DAVIS, Calif. - Senior Michael Chin and sophomore Michael Reiser each scored wins in singles and doubles to lead UC Davis to a 5-2 win over Nevada in a non-conference collegiate men's tennis dual match at the Marya Welch Tennis Center Saturday.
The Aggies pick up their first win of the spring season, moving to 1-8 overall.
Chin and doubles partner Justin Garcia edged Benjamin David and Guerin Smith of Nevada in an 8-6 pro set for the No. 1 doubles win, while Reiser paired with Simon Cheng for an 8-4 victory against Eldar Dzhafarov and Augustin Myard at No. 3.
Chin was the final singles winner off the courts as he completed a 7-6, 5-7, 6-3 victory over David in the No. 2 slot. Reiser also won his in split sets, defeating Myard 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 4. Kevin Liang and Garcia also scored singles wins at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.
UC Davis is next in action at San Francisco on Sunday for a 1 p.m. dual match.
