Aggies Finish Strong To Post Ninth Straight Win

Oct. 5, 2007

STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior 2-meter player Adam Lindsay scored two second-half goals to lead ninth-ranked UC Davis to an 8-4 win over No. 15 Pacific in a non-conference collegiate men's water polo game at Saint Mary's High School's Cortopassi Aquatics Center Friday.

The Aggies improve to 12-4 overall, picking up their ninth straight win. The Tigers fall to to 7-9 for the season.

Senior attacker Nick Arrigo and junior hole set Paul Wilson also had two goals each for UC Davis. Senior Dule Kaurloto paced Pacific with four goals, one in each quarter of play.

Second-quarter goals from Arrigo and senior Joseph Smith helped the Aggies craft a slim 3-2 edge at the halftime break. Lindsay scored his first goal early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 5-2, then converted a 6-on-5 chance midway in the fourth as part of a three-goal UC Davis quarter.

The Aggies managed to lock down the Tigers in their own five-man situations, allowing no goals in five exclusions.

UC Davis returns home to host the four-team Aggie Shootout. Defending national champion Cal takes on Air Force in the tournament opener, then the Aggies face Harvard for their first game at 11:30 a.m.
