Aggies Conclude Road Trip At UC Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Davis concluded its final road trip of the season with a 1-0 loss to UC Santa Barbara Sunday at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara. Kandice McLaughlin scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the first half as UCSB improved to 6-8-4 overall and 3-2-1 in the Big West Conference. UC Davis dropped to 6-11-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the conference.

McLaughlin's goal was her first of the season and came just seconds into the 38th minute. It came on a free kick from 25 yards out that hit the cross bar and landed in the goal.

Both teams combined for 17 shots on the day. UCSB authored 10 attempts at the goal. McLaughlin and two other Gauchos had two shots.

For the Aggies, Samantha Faber led the team with two shots. Megan Wall, Britnee Warmerdam, Molly Scott, Gabina Bohlman and Annie McAllister each were credited with one.

Sarah Peters suffered another hard-luck defeat in goal. She allowed just the lone goal and had three saves. UCSB's Katie Wright finished with two saves.

The Gauchos held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks while committing 16 fouls compared to the Aggies' 10.

UC Davis is next in action Nov. 4 when it concludes its season against Pacific at Aggie Soccer Stadium. The Aggies' senior class will be honored prior to the contest.
