SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Dayna Dumont, Katie Snyder and Annie McAllister each scored goals to lead UC Davis past host San Francisco, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Negoesco Field. The Aggies scored a pair of goals in the first half and added their final goal less than three minutes into the second half. The game was the season opener for UC Davis (1-0-0) while USF drops to 0-2-0 on the year.
The contest was scoreless for the first 19 minutes before Dumont connected in the 20th minute. Her goal came on a header off of a cross from Molly Scott to make it 1-0.
The Aggies would cling to the one-goal lead for the next 10 minutes before Snyder blasted a free kick from just outside the box to make it 2-0 with nearly 15 minutes left in the half.
UC Davis scored what would turn out to be the final goal of the game just 2:40 into the second half when McAllister found an open goal from the left side on an assist from Lacey Cobb. The Aggies' defense would continue its dominance the rest of the game to preserve the shutout.
The Dons would manage just six shots on the day as Megan Daws posted three saves on her way to her first career shutout.
Dumont and Snyder each had two shots as the Aggies posted a total of seven.
