Aggies Begin Three-Game Series Against Titans

FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Davis was swept by Cal State Fullerton in a Saturday doubleheader at Anderson Field in Fullerton. The Titans won the first game 7-0 before posting a 7-1 victory in game two. UC Davis was paced by Ashley Johnson, who collected three hits in six at-bats. CSF outhit UCD by a combined 17-6.

In the first game, the Titans' Candice Baker pitched a three-hit shutout while striking out 11. Cal State Fullerton (31-20) scored one run in the third inning and three runs in both the fourth and sixth innings. Johnson went 2-for-3 in the game for UC Davis (13-32).

In the second game, the Titans hit two first inning home runs while scoring three runs in the opening frame. CSF added a run in the second and scored two more in the fifth. The Aggies' lone run of the day came in the sixth when Roxanne Hannan singled down the right field line to drive in Megan De La Hoya.

Brooke Weekly pitched a complete game in the second contest. She allowed one unearned run, three hits and struck out eight with one walk. Titan pitchers struck out a total of 19 against one walk on the day.

The two teams conclude their series Sunday with a single game scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
