Oct. 15, 2006

Final Stats

IRVINE, Calif. - In a match highlighted by plenty of defense, UC Davis and UC Irvine battled to a scoreless tie in women's soccer action Sunday in Irvine. The match featured a total of 12 shots with the Aggies posting four attempts at the goal. There were just two shots, combined, in the two overtime periods. The tie gives UC Davis a 7-4-2 record heading into its final four matches of the season.

Dayna Dumont, Julia Ganlen, Annie McAllister and Katie Snyder each had a shot for UC Davis. Megan Daws posted six saves in goal for the Aggies.

UCI's Frankee Kellly finished with three shots while Lauryn Birkinshaw and Amanda Thomas finished with two.

"It was a really physical battle," said UC Davis head coach MaryClaire Robinson. "I was pleased with how well we handled the physicality of the match. It wasn't our best day, but we battled well and competed for the whole 110 minutes."

UC Irvine is now 3-10-1 on the year.

UC Davis next opens a two-match homestand Oct. 20 when it hosts Long Beach State at 2 p.m. at Aggie Soccer Stadium.
