Senior Renee Dyer and sophomore Jennifer Ginsberg led the UC Davis women, each scoring 18 points, in their first home meet of the season against the Nevada Wolf Pack. Nevada's Kim Kabesh had the highest individual score with 27 points but it wasn't enough to put the Wolf Pack ahead as UC Davis defeated Nevada 157-143.

UC Davis took the early lead against Nevada winning the first five events. The Aggie 200-yard medley relay of Jennifer Ginsberg, Ashley Cayford, Hannah Watanabe and Jill Olson finished with a time of 1:48.23. Following the relay victory, senior Michelle Jennings dominated the field in the 1000-yard freestyle with a finish of 10:29.97, 10 seconds faster than Nevada's second place finisher Maren Gunsalus. Dyer took the win in the 200-yard freestyle; followed by a first from Ginsberg in the 100-yard backstroke and a top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke by Ashley Cayford.

The Wolf Pack started to catch up when they took first through third on the 1-meter diving board. Candice Minette led Nevada on the 1-meter with a score of 234.15. The highest finisher for the Aggies was Courtney Packett who placed fourth with a score of 214.88.

Following the 1-meter, the Ags were able to take two more first place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.91 from Ginsberg and in the 500-yard free with a 5:08.84 by Rachelle Compton.

In the 3-meter diving competition, the Wolf Pack once again took first through third with Devon Owen finishing first with 324.15 points. The top finisher for UC Davis was Lisa Carbone with a score of 214.58. Following the 3-meter board the Wolf Pack trailed UC Davis by only 14 points.

In the following 200-yard individual medley, Nevada's Li Bei held onto an early lead to barely beat out Aggie Hannah Watanabe for first place. Bei's finish brought Nevada within five points of the Aggies heading into the final event.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Jill Olson, Melanie Covert, Emily Medved and Renee Dyer sealed the win for the Ags coming in first with a time of 1:37.16.

The Aggie women's and men's swim teams will compete next on Saturday at the University of Pacific Invitational in Stockton. The meet is scheduled to start at noon.
