DAVIS, Calif. - Less than 1,500 tickets remain available for sale to the public for the 51st Annual Causeway Classic football game between UC Davis and Sacramento State, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Toomey Field.
UC Davis Athletics Department officials expect the game to sell out prior to Saturday. The game is being presented by Steve's Place Pizza.
Additionally, it has been announced that Comcast will broadcast the rivalry game on Channel 2 in the greater Sacramento and Roseville areas. KCRA-TV anchor Walt Gray will provide the play-by-play with former Aggie player DeWayne Quinn handling color analyst duties.
There were just 1,159 reserved seats available to the game and only 250 general admission tickets as of Tuesday afternoon. A total of 900 free tickets - available only to UC Davis undergraduates - remain as well. A total of 8,720 tickets were originally available to the public and UC Davis undergraduates.
Comcast, meanwhile, will be offering coverage of the game to its subscribers in the greater Sacramento and Roseville areas. With Comcast's partnership, the game will be available on Channel 2.
Gray, a veteran broadcaster who has handled play-by-play duties for both UC Davis and Sacramento State, as well as having covered sidelines for the Miami Dolphins, will provide the call on Saturday afternoon. Quinn is a 1992 graduate of UC Davis and former defensive back and kick returner for the Aggies. He and Gray worked together previously on cable coverage of the local annual Pig Bowl football game.
Radio coverage of the game will be provided by KHTK (1140 AM), KDVS (90.3 FM) and by KTKZ (1380 AM) and on the internet at both www.ucdavisaggies.com and www.hornetsports.com.
Tickets are available by calling the UC Davis Ticket Office at (530) 752-1915 or on the internet at www.tickets.com.
