In 2023, Stiles Satterlee joined the UC Davis Football staff, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his role as Quality Control - Defense and in 2025 Satterlee was promoted to a full-time assistant being given the title of Assistant Coach (Offense). The 2025 season will be his third in Davis.
His primary responsibilities encompass a multifaceted approach to supporting the Defensive Coaches, with a specific focus on working closely with the Linebackers. On game days, Stiles serves as a crucial link from the box to the Defensive Coordinator, providing vital information for strategic decision-making. Stiles also assists in breaking down and analyzing opponent film, contributing valuable insights to enhance the team's defensive strategies. Additionally, he actively assists in defensive recruiting efforts and all on-campus recruiting endeavors. His responsibilities extend to assembling and creating the defensive playbook, a task that requires meticulous planning and strategic thinking. Stiles also takes charge of developing comprehensive scouting reports and self-scout reports, further solidifying his integral role in shaping the team's defensive skills.
Hailing from Bellevue, Wash., Stiles is a proud graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he carved out an illustrious playing career for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Football team from 2018 to 2022. As a versatile player, he showcased his skills in positions such as Safety, Nickel, and Outside Linebacker.
Stiles's on-field accomplishments are nothing short of impressive, reflecting his commitment to excellence. A 4-year starter and 3-time Captain, he played a pivotal role in securing two SCIAC Conference Championships, contributing to the team's remarkable achievement of holding the #7 defense in the country in 2022.
Recognized for his outstanding character, Stiles received the prestigious John Zinda Award—an accolade reserved for a SCIAC conference player who best exemplifies the ideals of athletic and academic performance, leadership, integrity, positive attitude, and sportsmanship.
His impact on the field is further highlighted by being the team leader in tackling in both 2019 and 2022. In 2021, Stiles earned the title of Team Defensive MVP, showcasing his dedication and contribution to the team's success. Additionally, his individual achievements include being named 1st Team All-Conference Defensive Back in 2021 and 1st Team All-Conference Linebacker in 2022.
Stiles has 2 brothers, Josh and Jake, and one sister, Paige.Â
