Olmsted is another recent UC Davis graduate that caught the Aggie bug and continued her career at her alumnus. With a big role to fill, Olmsted manages equine care, records, and medical protocols- she also coordinates the team's travel and manages every minute detail of the home meets.
Â
While being raised in La Verne, California, eight-year-old Olmsted gave horseback riding a shot and immediately fell in love. As time went on, however, she was magnetized with the management and upkeep aspects in the equine industry and found her opportunity to follow that interest at Davis.
Â
As she pursued her Animal Science degree with an emphasis on equine sciences, Olmsted recalls the hands-on labs and internships available for her as a student. In her senior year, she was named the Head Barn Supervisor, taking the brunt of horse care and working with veterinary professionals to make specialized health plans for each animal.Â
