Maggie Fenton, UC Davis Athletics' associate athletics director of facilities, operations & capital projects, joined the department in January, 2017, after spending the preceding nine years at Stanford as a member of its operations and events staff.

A member of the UC Davis’ senior management team, she is the sports administrator for men’s basketball, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse.

Fenton first joined Stanford Athletics in 2007 as a member of its game day event staff, ultimately becoming the Cardinal’s assistant athletics director for operations and events seven years later. Fenton oversaw the events and technical operations department and served as the lead events manager for football, men’s and women’s basketball.

Additional responsibilities included budget oversight for each program, home game parking operations, production of credentials and creation of game day policies, event setup, staffing, management of vendor contracts and serving as a department liaison with visiting teams, officials, security and police.

Fenton was the Co-project Manager for 2014 Foster Farms Bowl Game, 2013 & ’14 Rose Bowl games, 2012 Fiesta Bowl trip and 2011 Orange Bowl trip when Stanford was invited to compete in each respective event. Bowl-game responsibilities included the management of Stanford Athletics’ charter flight, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, liaison with fan travel agent, liaison with internal University groups and logistical on-site coordinator alongside Bowl staff.

Fenton also served as Stanford’s liaison with the National Football League and the Denver Broncos regarding practice site logistics for Super Bowl 50.

Before her career in collegiate athletics, Fenton was a three-sport student-athlete at SUNY New Paltz, and competed for the university’s women’s soccer, women’s basketball and women’s tennis teams. In addition to earning all-conference soccer accolades in 2003 and 2004, she was selected team captain by her peers; she also was named vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2001-03.

After graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in business administration, she earned a master’s degree in sport management at the University of San Francisco.

Fenton lives in Davis with her wife, Kris, and her two kids, Cooper and Makenna.
