Emilee Tominovich

Emilee Tominovich is set to begin her first season as an assistant coach with UC Davis women’s soccer in 2025, joining head coach Kat Mertz’s staff.

A decorated and experienced leader, Tominovich comes to the Aggies after most recently serving as an assistant coach for the 2024 NCAA Division II National Champion Cal Poly Pomona Broncos.

Her tenure at Cal Poly Pomona was defined by historic achievements. In 2024, she played a key role in guiding the Broncos to their first NCAA Division II National Championship. This past year, the team posted a remarkable 22-1-2 record, including a perfect 7-0 run during postseason play, and closed the year on a 10-game winning streak. Tominovich was also recognized alongside the rest of the Cal Poly Pomona staff by United Soccer Coaches as the 2024 NCAA DII National Coaching Staff of the Year.

During the 2023 season, she played a pivotal role in the team’s first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular-season title, finishing with an 11-5-3 overall record and an 8-2-1 mark in conference play. The Broncos advanced to the CCAA Tournament finals for the first time since 2001, defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 1-0 in the semifinals.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Emilee Tominovich to our coaching staff,” said Mertz. “Emilee brings a wealth of experience and talent, having been part of successful programs at every level — most recently as an assistant coach for the 2024 Division II National Champion Cal Poly Pomona. Her background with some of the top club programs in the country will be invaluable in helping us identify and recruit top-tier talent, both in California and nationally. Beyond her coaching expertise, Emilee is a phenomenal role model and mentor, and we know she will make a lasting impact on our student-athletes both on and off the field.”

Tominovich’s coaching resume spans collegiate, club, international, and other levels of the game. Prior to her time at Cal Poly Pomona, she served as the director of women’s soccer operations at Long Beach State (2022-2023) and as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Marymount California University (2019-2022).

At the club level, Tominovich is currently a staff coach for Legends FC’s ECNL/ECRL teams, having previously coached with Beach Futbol Club’s ECNL/ECRL program from 2020 to 2024. She also served as the head coach and girls program director for AYSO United in Long Beach from 2017 to 2020.

Internationally, Tominovich was an assistant coach for the Puerto Rican Football Federation’s youth national teams from 2022 to 2024.
Her additional coaching experience includes roles as head coach for the West Region ODP (2023-present) and Cal South Pro+ ODP (2019-2023), as well as serving as a varsity assistant coach at Los Alamitos High School (2019-2023).

Tominovich is a highly credentialed coach, holding a U.S. Soccer B License, an FAW UEFA B License, and is currently a candidate for the U.S. Soccer A License. She was also recognized as a United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 recipient for the 2022-23 class, highlighting her as one of the sport’s rising stars.

A native of Clarksville, Maryland, Tominovich earned her Master of Arts in kinesiology from Cal State Long Beach and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from The Catholic University of America.
