UC Davis Athletics

Brian McGovern began working for UC Davis in January 2019 as an Equipment Intern. He took on a full time role shortly after his hiring and in 2025 McGovern was promoted to his current position as Director of Operations at Hickey Gym. He currently oversees the Hickey Equipment Room as well as laundry services for sports events.

Brian gained an interest in sports management and equipment management while pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Economics at Sacramento State. There, he held a marketing internship working with the Sacramento State student group, The Green Army. 

During college, he started working for the Sacramento Kings as Parking Lot Attendant in 2012 and a year later transferred to a Locker Room Attendant. One of Brian’s biggest accomplishments is being in charge of scheduling and managing locker room attendants for the 2017 NCAA March Madness tournament, CIF section and State Championships as well as other Stockton Kings games and other College games held at the Golden 1 Center. 

He also worked for The Sacramento River Cats as a Clubhouse Attendant and eventually becoming employed by the San Francisco Giants as the Sacramento Clubhouse Assistant Manager during the years of 2014-2018.
