2022: WCGA SCHOLASTIC ALL-AMERICAN … Did not compete in any meets.
2021: UC Davis opted out of the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic... The NCAA Division I Council adopted legislation to extend the eligibility of student-athletes that compete in winter sports; gymnastics student-athletes will received an additional season of eligibility and an extra year to complete it.
2020: Made floor lineup in three meets, plus beam order twice... Scored 9.625 on floor in road dual at Arizona State (Jan. 17)... Best beam was a 9.550 in exhibition during NorCal Classic (Jan. 12)... WCGA Scholastic All-American.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Graduated from Pacific Ridge HS in 2019... Began competing for Coastal Gymnastics Academy in 2013, including last four years at Level 10... Made Region 1 Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019... Finished 5th on floor, 7th in all-around at 2019 SoCal state meet.
PERSONAL: Born in Ann Arbor, Mich.... Majoring in environmental science & management... Parents are Lars Engstrom & Kelly Rector-Engstrom... Comes from a large family: one brother (Soren), two sisters (Annike and Tova), plus numerous foster siblings... As she says, "being a big sister to both my bio siblings and my foster siblings has made me the person that I am today"... Perhaps related to this fact, she learned how to drive a 12-passenger van... Career aspirations range from developing sustainable food systems, advocating for environmental justice in marginalized communities, or engineering a way to rid the oceans of plastic... Among her personal aspirations are to live in a yurt.
