Aya Suzuki

  • Title
    Undergraduate Assistant Coach
A two-time All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation performer and an outstanding scholar-athlete, Aya Suzuki remains with the Aggies for the 2020 season as an undergraduate assistant coach.

Originally an alumna of Lowell High School in San Francisco and San Mateo Gymnastics, Suzuki became a key contributor on uneven bars and balance beam in her sophomore season. She took her collegiate career a step further as a junior in 2018, earning first-team All-MPSF honors on beam and earning one of her team's four Outstanding Contribution Awards, given in lieu of the more common MVP or Most Improved accolades.

Suzuki capped her career with a second-team All-MPSF nod on bars as a senior, heading into the conference meet with a 9.735 NQS. She scored a career-best 9.850 on that apparatus three times in 2019, including the MPSF Championships.

In the classroom, Suzuki finished her degree in biological systems engineering, in which she was a four-time WCGA or NACGC/W Scholastic All-American, and a three-time Academic All-MPSF honoree.
