2018: BIG WEST MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (Mar. 20 & Apr. 3)… Recorded the second best long jump in Aggie history with a leap of 7.75m/25-5.25 at the Titan Team Challenge on Mar. 31… Is also now on the top 10 list for the Aggie all-timers in the triple jump, residing in a tie for seventh with a measurement of 15.30m/50-2.50, which was received at the Big West Track and Field Championships… Was also a member of the 4x100 relay team, and helped the Aggies the third and fifth best times in the UC Davis Record Book…  Set career-best records in all four events he participated in throughout the season: 100 meter (10.79 seconds), 200 meter (22.44 seconds), high jump (7.75m), triple jump (15.30m)… Recorded the top seven highest marks on the UC Davis Outdoor Performance List for the high jump, four of which were first-place finishes… At the Big West Track and Field Championships, he finished in third and fourth in the high jump and triple jump, respectively.

2017: Finished fifth in the long jump and eight in the 4x100 at the Big West Championships... Wind-legal best of 24-0.75 from Mondo Team Challenge was good for No. 9 in school history... Jumped a wind-aided 24-2.25 to finish second at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge... Won the event at Aggie Open (23-8.75)... Also competed in the sprints, posting bests of 11.04 in the 100 and 22.94 in the 200.

2016: Qualified for the Conference Championships in the long and triple jump... Season best marks of 22-3.5 and 45-3.5... Won long jump at Brutus Hamilton Open and finished second at Mondo Team Challenge and Hornet Invitational.

CANYON HS: Competed in three sports in high school: football, basketball, and track & field… Competed in 100m, 110mH, but was primarily focused on the long and triple jumps... Held a high school PR of 22-03 in the long jump... Voted track MVP junior year.

PERSONAL: Parents are Donna and Joe Childs… Older brother David graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2015… Younger brother Kevin intends to swim at the Division I level… Something people don’t know is that he watches a ton of anime… Proudest personal accomplishment is jumping 25 feet, 5 inches in long jump… Favorite movie is Green Book… Intends to work in esports… Top three things on bucket list include skydiving, traveling to Japan, and going to a major Super Smash Bros. tournament… Chose UC Davis because the coaches gave him a chance after tearing his hamstring his senior year of high school, and because he loves the campus.
