2014: Completed in fourevents, all of them in the hammer throw... Gad a season-best mark of 152-07 while finishing fourth at the Causeway Dual.
2013:Competed in two heptathlon meets, scoring a season-high 3,562 points at the Mondo Mid-Major Multi in April.
CARPINTERIA HS '12: Team captain in track, cross country and soccer, winning school's Barney Milne Cup (high point "warrior" athlete) as a sophomore and senior... Southern Section Division IV finalist (8th) in pole vault as a senior... Set school record at 10-0... Two-time team MVP and three-time all-league honoree in soccer... Made All-Frontier League first team in final two seasons... Played club ball for Real Carpinteria... Twice earned All-FL squads in cross country.
PERSONAL: Born in Burlingame, Calif.... Majoring in animal science, having chosen UC Davis for its pre-vet program... Parents are Matt and Kim Drain... Career highlight was breaking 10-foot mark in pole vault to set CHS school record... Claims to be "incredibly afraid of spiders and failure."
