Hit prep PR of 1:59.51 at Diablo Valley Athletic League meet in 2009... Graduated No. 3 in his class... Won Scholar-Athlete of the Year nod for highest GPA among senior athletes.
PERSONAL: Born in Walnut Creek, Calif.... Majoring in food science... Parents are Joel & Yuriko Butler... Older brother, Michael, was a sprinter/jumper at UC Davis from 2004-07... Career highlight was breaking two-minute barrier for the first time.
