2011-12: ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE DOUBLES SECOND TEAM... Compiled a 7-14 singles record from No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 slots in his first year at UC Davis... Aggies[apos] top doubles team with Kyle Miller, finishing 10-15 overall with seven No. 1 doubles wins... The pair opened dual match play with four consecutive victories, including an 8-4 win over Maxime Armengaud and Micholas Vinel of then-No. 50 Santa Clara.

FRESNO STATE: Played the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons for Fresno State... As a freshman, defeated Ted Kelly of Stanford, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the second round of the ITA Northwest Regional ... recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Kristian Kuharszky of Nevada.

PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Played in the Under 18 Canadian National Doubles Championship ... finalist in the Quebec Provincial Championship ... ranked as high as No. 2 in Quebec.

PERSONAL: Parents are Marc Fortin and Mireille Verdi ... Majoring in exercise biology... Hobbies include playing and watching sports and being with friends... Favorite athlete is James Blake because of his comeback after a major head injury and the death of his father... Biggest athletic thrill was winning his first round match against the second seed in the Montreal ITF.
