2019-20: Posted a 5-9 overall, 0-1 dual singles record… Went 2-2 in three set matches in the fall… Defeated Pacific’s Tadiwa Chinamo 6-4, 6-4 at Aggie Invitational… In doubles, compiled a 14-11 overall, 6-7 dual record, playing all but one match at No. 2… Partnered primarily with Andrei Volgin, but paired once with David Goulak to help Goulak set the career doubles win record… Dropped just one game in the weekend series against Santa Clara and Washington, defeating SCU 6-0, and UW 6-1… Went 10-7 overall with Volgin as a partner, winning the Bulldog Classic A Flight in the fall… The duo also reached the round of 16 at the ITA Northwest Regional, falling to the eventual champions No. 45 Ty Gentry/Joshua Charlton (Oregon)… Put together a 12-12 career record at No. 2 doubles to finish Aggie career tied for sixth in the record book… Remainder of the spring dual season was canceled on Mar. 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2018-19: ITA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM… BIG WEST ALL-ACADEMIC… Finished debut year with a 15-17 overall singles record, and 15-15 doubles record… Posted a team-best 10 singles wins in fall tournaments, including a seven-match win streak to win the round robin at the UCSB Classic… Played primarily at No. 5 singles in the spring, finishing 3-5 in that position… Posted wins over Fresno State, Northern Arizona, and Hawaii to highlight the dual season… Claimed the first set in an unfinished three-set match against No. 6 Stanford’s Kento Perera at No. 6 singles… In doubles, teamed primarily with Alex Scemanenco at No. 2, going 10-7 overall and 9-6 in duals… To start a 3-0 record at No. 3, clinched the deciding doubles match in a tiebreak win over Fresno State in first dual match together to claim a team victory over the Bulldogs… Won first seven out of eight matches together at beginning of the season… Teamed with David Goulak at No. 1 doubles in five matches, and finished with a 2-2 record.
ST IGNATIUS COLLEGE PREP '17: A three-star recruit out of high school according to the website TennisRecruiting.net... Earned West Catholic Athletic League First-Team All-League honors as a sophomore and senior... Won the WCAL individual title as a sophomore... Led the team to WCAL and CIF Central Coast Section team titles as a senior.
PERSONAL: Majoring in managerial economics... Parents are Sergey and Dina... Older sister Darya attended Stanford... Principal's Honor Roll all four years in high school... Top three things on his bucket list are to go sky diving, swim with sharks, and become a scratch golfer... Lists his sports hero as Roger Federer, and non-sports hero as Matt Solomon... Most people don't know that he was the first person in his family born in the United States, and his first language was Russian... The reason he chose UC Davis was because he loved the school, the education it offered, and knew a lot of people on the team.
