John Lamanna

John Lamanna begins his fifth season on Gary Stewart's staff after beginning his Aggie tenure in 2006-07. Lamanna assists in all aspects of the program.

He came to UC Davis following two years at Loyola Marymount as the director of basketball operations. In that capacity, he assisted in a variety of day-to-day functions, including summer camps, team travel and video operations. In addition, the Lions advanced to the championship game of the 2006 West Coast Conference Tournament in Lamanna's second season.

Prior to his stint at LMU, Lamanna was a four-year student assistant at Washington State under Dick Bennett. During Lamanna's first two years at WSU, Stewart was an assistant coach with the Cougars. In addition to a number of duties, Lamanna's main responsibility at WSU was video coordination.

Lamanna has also worked for USA Basketball coordinating operations for the 2002 Men's Youth Festival and the 2003 Men's Pan American and Junior National Team trials. His coaching experience also includes a stint in New Zealand, assisting on a college select team in 2001. In addition, he was featured in an issue of American Basketball Quarterly in 2005 and has had an article published in the magazine [quote]Winning Hoops[quote] as well as [quote]Coach and Athletic Director.[quote]

Lamanna earned a B.S. in kinesiology from Washington State in 2004 and an M.A. in guidance and counseling from LMU in 2006.

Lamanna and his wife Sara reside in Davis, Calif.
