Tim Fua, a seasoned professional in the realm of track and field, has been an integral part of the UC Davis athletics staff since October 2023. With a passion for coaching and an expertise in throwing events, he has been instrumental in the development of athletes in shot-put, discus, hammer, javelin, and weight throw.

A proud alumnus of California State University, Chico, Tim's coaching journey spans over 2 decades. He commenced his coaching career at Chico State from 2000 to 2004, followed by a successful tenure at UC Davis from 2005 to 2011. Tim further expanded his impact at Sacramento City College, American River College (2012-2015), and Delta College (2015-2021) before returning to UC Davis in 2022, where he continues to make a significant mark.

Prior to coaching, Tim had a successful career as a student-athlete at Chico State and garnered numerous accolades and accomplishments. Fua earned All-American honors after finishing in 6th place for discus and shot put at the 1996 NCAA Division II National Championship. As a coach, Tim has also reached many milestones, including coaching an NCAA All American in 2011.

Tim's dedication to excellence is evident in the 5 Big West Champions he has mentored and the remarkable achievement of 17 Division 2 All-Americans. Additionally, he boasts two California Junior College State Champions, showcasing his ability to cultivate success at various levels.

His return to UC Davis in 2022 reflects not only his enduring connection to the program but also his ongoing commitment to the development and success of student-athletes.Â
