Raphael Carpio came to UC Davis in 2022 and currently oversees athletic training for field hockey and women's water polo. Carpio was previously an athletic trainer and adjunct professor at the University of Redlands. Prior to his time at Redlands, he spent five years as an assistant athletic trainer at UC Riverside and three years at UC Santa Cruz.
Carpio received his Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Biology from UC Davis in 2011 and went on to complete his Master's of Science in Athletic Training at Cal Baptist University in 2014. In 2021, Carpio completed his Doctor of Heath Science (DHSc) from A.T. Still University.
Carpio currently resides in Vacaville with his wife Stephanie.
