2020-21: Will not lose a year of athletic eligibility due to the NCAA’s COVID-19 policy… ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION I NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD… Finished the season tied for second on the team with seven points, on three goals and an assist… Those three goals is the second-highest individual total… One of six players who finished tied for second with an assist… Started all nine games played… Scored a goal in consecutive games vs. Stanford (4/9) and at Vermont (4/15)… Final goal of the season took place in the Aggies’ season finale at Maine (4/18)… Ended her team’s game at Vermont with three points since she also earned an assist that day..,. Both of her shots against the Catamounts were on goal… Also finished with a season-high two shots (one was on goal) at Maine.
2019: AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL SELECTION...NFHCA ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION... Appeared in all 17 games for UC Davis, making a career-high 17 starts... Registered shots on goal against Ball State (9/5), No. 25 Michigan State (9/6) and No. 18 Rutgers (10/5).
2018: AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL SELECTION… NFHCA ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION… Competed in 17 games for the Aggies, making a career-high 14 starts… Logged a shot on goal in the Aggies’ 3-0 shutout win over Davidson (9/9).
2017: ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION I SCHOLAR OF DISTINCTION HONOREE… ALL-AMERICA EAST COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL... NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION… Competed in all 18 games, making 9 starts… Earned her first career start on Sept. 29 vs. California… Recorded her first career assist in the Aggies' season opener against Michigan State on Aug. 26… Forced overtime against America East Conference foe, California, thanks to her first ever goal as an Aggie on Oct. 20… One week later, her two-goal effort against No. 18 Stanford ranked her tied for second in the Division I era record books for goals in a single game… Finished the regular season co-leading the team in points (7) and goals (3), boasting a .429 shot percentage.
SARATOGA HS '17: Four year field hockey letter winner and staple in the midfield... Her sophomore year, Chen was named Defensive MVP of the varsity team, All-Santa Clara Valley Athletic League Second Team and All-Central Coast Section Second Team... During her junior season, was named to the All-Santa Clara Valley Athletic League First Team, All-Mercury News First Team and the Central Coast Section Championship Team... Closed out her high school career by being selected all-league first team and All-Mercury News First Team for the second straight year... Was also awarded Most Inspirational Varsity Field Hockey Player and the Captain Award... led her team to second in the league and section semifinals her junior and senior year... A three-sport junior varsity athlete her freshman and sophomore years, playing soccer and lacrosse on top of field hockey... Four year soccer letter winner and was given the Captains Award for varsity soccer her senior year.... Academically, was a five-time Scholar of Distinction... Named to the 2017 Keith Waldman -- Optimal Performance Associates/NFHCA High School National Academic Squad... Additional academic accolades in 2017 include CIF Scholar-Athlete of the Year nominee, President' Education Award, Saratoga High School High Honors Award and AP Scholar with Honor.
PERSONAL: Born in Mountain View, Calif. ... Parents are Steven and Allison Chen... Her two siblings are Andrew and Caroline... Previously played four years with the Saratoga Impact Field Hockey Club Team which won second place in the 2017 Cal Cup's Women U19 Division.
