2021 XC: Competed in five meets… Placed 55^th at the Big West Championship with a time of 26:15.9… Best finish came at the Pacific Invitational where he crossed the line in seventh place with a time of 26:19.6… Opened his season at the Stump Invitational in 40^th place, running a 24:54.4… Placed 128^th at the Dellinger Invite with a time of 25:39.5… Clocked a 26:43.9 to place 150^th at the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals.

ARROYO GRANDE HS ’21: Placed 6th at 2019 Central Coast Section cross country championship, then PR to finish 46th at CIF state meet... Had senior season suspended by COVID-19 pandemic... Won 3,200 crown and placed 4th in 1,600 and 6th in 800 at 2021 CCAA Mountain League championships... Lost most of 2020 track season due to COVID, following sophomore season in which he placed 10th and 6th West Area championships in 800 and 1,600, respectively... Won cross country team’s Rookie of the Year award in 2017.

PERSONAL: Born in Santa Barbara, Calif.... Majoring in neurobiology, physiology & behavior... Parents are Christine & John Jon Munoz...  Oldest of three brothers, along with Cristian and Daniel... Draws his inspiration from Kobe Bryant... Enjoys playing the guitar and, appropriately enough, lists Almost Famous as his favorite movie.
