2019: Appeared in 10 games as a reserve receiver... Caught 14 passes for 168 yards... Most of his output came in four home games: 2-for-35 vs. Lehigh (9/14), 6-for-38 vs. Montana (9/28), 2-for-24 vs. Cal Poly (10/12), 2-for-54 vs. Weber State (10/26)... Also returned a kickoff 23 yards against WSU.

CHAPARRAL HS '19: Starred in both football and track... Two-time All-Southwestern League honoree in football... Multi-talented threat for the Pumas: passed for 1,636 yards and 12 TDs, rushed for 721 yards and 8 TDs as a senior... Averaged 5.9 yards per carry (55-for-326) and 26.8 yards per catch (18-for-483) as a junior... Also played cornerback on defense... Began football career as a quarterback, earning team MVP honors as a freshman... Earned track team's Rookie of the Year award in 2018... Reached Southwestern League finals in both 100 meters (10.99) and 200 (wind-aided 22.68) as a senior... Helped 4x100 relay to sixth-place finish at Southern Section D-1 meet that year... Two-time Academic All-League selection… Heavily involved in community service and volunteer projects… Selected by school officials as the campus’s “every 15 minutes” anti-DUI program representative.

PERSONAL: Born in Redlands, Calif.... Parents are Orlando & Sylvia Ornelas... Majoring in biochemistry & molecular biology, with career plans in family medicine... No relation to football staff's Tim Ornelas, the 2017-18 Video Coordinator of the Year... Chose UC Davis for the "education, great football, culture and college-town feel."
