2011: Redshirted.

SERRA HS [apos]10: Earned team[apos]s Pitcher of the Year honor in 2008 as the Padres won the West Catholic Athletic League... Posted a 7-0 record with an 0.82 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 48 innings on the mound... Returned in 2009 to lead Serra HS to a 36-7 overall record and a second straight West Catholic Athletic League title as well as the Central Coast Section championship... Forced to forgo 2010 season after suffering a season-ending hand injury... Two-year honor roll member.

PERSONAL: Born in San Francisco, Calif.... Parents are Tom and Trish Nichol... Has a twin brother, Bryan who attends Sierra College, and a younger sister, Courtney... Majoring in organizational studies... Sports hero is Nolan Ryan while his nonsports hero is his father... Baseball superstitions include never stepping on the foul lines and always exiting the dugout from the same side.
