ABOUT WOODY WILSON TRACK
The first lighted athletic facility on campus, Toomey Field served as the home of Aggie football and track & field from its opening in 1949 until 2006, when football moved across campus to UC Davis Health Stadium. The UC Davis track & field teams remain the primary tenants of the facility, competing on a track named for beloved coach Eugene S. "Woody" Wilson.
Due to risk of safety hazards, the old bleachers at the stadium were torn down in 2007 following the football team's move to UC Davis Health Stadium. For championship events, temporary bleachers have been moved into the stadium for spectators.
Woody Wilson Track hosted numerous championships, most recently the 2014 Big West Conference meet. It served as an alternate practice facility during the 2000 Olympic Trials, and the site of the 1996 California/Nevada State Championships.
