ABOUT THE UC DAVIS EQUESTRIAN CENTER
With the addition of women's equestrian as a varsity sport in 2018, the campus's 25-acre Equestrian Center joined the roster of Aggie athletics facilities. Located on the southwest corner of campus, the center features a 45,000-square-foot covered arena plus an outdoor venue, with boarding facilities, pastures and four barns on site.
The Aggies hosted their first ICA meet on January 31, 2019, posting a 10-5 victory against then-No. 9 Delaware State.
Despite a relatively short history, the equestrian program has seen much success for the Aggies, winning back-to-back ECAC championships in 2023 and 2024, while also participating in the NCEA national championships following both their inaugural 2019 season and in the 2024 season.
The Equestrian Center is operated under the auspices of Campus Recreation and offers riding lessons as well as opportunities for volunteers to serve as "guardian angels" for the horses. More information is available at the Campus Rec website.
