ABOUT LA RUE FIELD
During the past two decades, UC Davis has added several upgrades to its softball facility, located on campus at the corner of La Rue Road and Russell Blvd. The most dramatic renovation took place prior to the 2018 season, as part of a multi-million campaign partially funded through the Marya Welch Initiative for Women's Athletics.
The entire stadium was razed with a new grandstand, team clubhouse and locker room (located just beyond the right-field fence) installed. The playing surface was laser graded, new sod was planted in the outfield, and a new drainage system positioned around the field was installed. An electrical conduit runs through the facility to enable lighting at the batting cages.
Other improvements to the stadium footprint include new dugouts for both the home and visitor sides with renovated bullpens, as well as a new concrete backstop with netting. An upgraded sound system and scoreboard enhances the fan experience. The entire field is wrapped with updated graphics in line with other Aggie home facilities.
Previous work and upgrades resulted in the Aggies being selected to host six NCAA Division II West Region Tournaments from 1994 through 2002, one of few schools in the nation to have such an honor. In January 1999, La Rue Field was recognized as the “Softball Field of the Year” by the Sports Turf Managers Association.
La Rue Stadium measures 200 feet down each foul line, with a 220-foot distance from home to center.

From the Bay Area
• Travel east on Interstate 80 until reaching turnoff near UC Davis campus for Highway 113 (toward Woodland).
• Exit Russell Blvd. then turn right.
• Turn right at La Rue Road.
• Turn right at Orchard Road. Public parking is available in Lot 35. Teams and officials with proper identifiers may park in designated spaces along Parkway Circle.
From Sacramento
• Travel west on Interstate 80 until reaching turnoff near UC Davis campus for Highway 113 (toward Woodland).

• Turn right at La Rue Road.
• Turn right at Orchard Road. Public parking is available in Lot 35. Teams and officials with proper identifiers may park in designated spaces along Parkway Circle.
Additional nearby parking is available in Lot 25 by the University Credit Union Center. WARNING: do not park at the University Mall, as non-mall patrons will be cited.
NOTE: La Rue Field is also accessible from downtown Davis by traveling west on Fifth Street. That road turns into Russell Blvd. Turn left at La Rue Road, then right onto Orchard Road to Lot 35
