UC Davis Basketball — Home Game Protocols

Pavilion external aerial

If you are interested in covering a home basketball event, please e-mail Jason Spencer (WBB contact) or Eric Bankston at least 24 hours before tipoff. Even if you are unsure about attending a game, please send an e-mail to allow Jason or Eric to add your name to that game’s authorized personnel list.

Parking: Lot 25 is available for media use in any unmarked spot (95% of the lot is unmarked for student use). By leaving a business card on the lower left-hand side of your dashboard (must feature company/organization’s logo), UC Davis Transportation Services will know you are media covering an event on campus.

Media Entry: The concrete ramp located outside the Pavilion (see photo above), right behind the baseball diamond’s scoreboard, is the only place media can enter and exit the building. Please arrive no earlier than 40 minutes, and no later than 20 minutes before tipoff  since media must complete a symptom survey and temperature check before entering the facility. Once cleared, you will receive a wristband, which will serve as your credential for the game. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the Pavilion.

Media Access: Once inside, media is allowed to roam around the upper concourse or any block of seats in the 200 sections since the floor is restricted to Tier I individuals (coaches, student-athletes, trainers) personnel only.  Bathrooms are available on the upper concourse near the Northwest (men's) and Southwest (women's) Entrance. Please note that concessions are unavailable on game day; outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the Pavilion.

Photographers/TV: Photographers and TV camera crew can film anywhere on the upper concourse, or in any section within the 200 level.

Seating: Even though tables are available, media may choose to sit in the stands and are asked to socially distance from one another.

Internet: Live Stats are available at UCDavisLiveStats.com. Two internet networks are available for media use: eduroam (unsecured) and ICANet (secured, ask Jason or Eric for password).

Postgame Press Conferences: This will take place through Zoom, Jason and Eric will e-mail respective postgame press conference links to media in attendance. Individuals can ask questions through Zoom following a cool-down period.

UC Davis Athletics thanks you for your interest in covering men’s and women’s home basketball games, and for adhering to the policies and procedures listed above.
