ALL EVENT FINALS

MEN'S HAMMER - Caleb Stuart, UC Riverside
"I got off to a slow start, but I was glad that I was able to work back with each throw. It's just felt like things weren't clicking at the beginning but, once I knew I had enough distance to get the win, there was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. My best throw was my sixth throw, that was after I knew I had the win so, from that point on, I was able to just walk up there, nice and relaxed, build up enough speed and just chuck it."

WOMEN'S HAMMER - Fatima Vergara, Long Beach State
"The key was just to go out there and do my best. I do all I can do at practice. All that's left to do is just put it there when it counts."

WOMEN'S JAVELIN - Lacey Surak, UC Irvine
"I'm really blessed to be here. I didn't come out the way I usually do. I didn't come out ready to go and I just had to go and I had to fight. The last throw, the pressure was on so I knew my last throw had to be it because that was the last chance."

MEN'S LONG JUMP - Ted Hooper, UC Riverside
Quote not available

MEN'S SHOT PUT - Caleb Stuart, UC Riverside
"Mostly it was just going out there without any pressure because I didn't have any expectations. (The winning throw) was my second throw. Right after I threw it, before they measured it, I didn't feel like it was a far throw but I heard the measurement (and it was).

MEN'S HIGH JUMP - Lohnnie Tape-Jackson, Cal State Northridge
"I didn't feel any pressure because I haven't hit my PR yet and I still haven't got it yet so I'm a little mad about that. First and second place were me and my teammate (Reggie Trotter) so I'm glad that we got it."

WOMEN'S LONG JUMP - Danielle Littleton, UC Riverside
Quote coming on Saturday

WOMEN'S DISCUS - Itohan Aikhonbare, UC Irvine
Quote coming on Saturday

WOMEN'S POLE VAULT - Holly Tokar, UC Davis
"It was great. I had a lot of fun. It was perfect. (The key) was relaxing and doing just what I did in practice. (I was) really just focusing on running fast and jumping high. I'm so excited for the years to come. Hopefully, big things."

WOMEN'S STEEPLECHASE - Diana George, Cal Poly
"I actually lost my dad on Tuesday so I just wanted to go out there and make him proud today. I've been battling some injuries. I wasn't sure if I was going to race or not but I knew that it would've made him really proud. I used that for strength at the end when I was trying to get there."

MEN'S STEEPLECHASE - Nick Woolf, Cal Poly
"I felt a little bit of pressure (trying to repeat as Big West champion) since my main competitor on my team got injured this year and I really wanted to represent. I have a little rough of a season because of some injuries but today was the first day I've felt really good. We had a really good talk with our team yesterday, I got my mind straight and I just knew I was going to get it, and I went for it. "

WOMEN'S 10,000 - Christine Hoffmann, UC Davis
"The plan was we knew we were going to have to take it out likely. We decided to do about 6-minute miles for the beginning and me and my teammates switched off (with the lead) which was nice. About two miles in I felt really good and picked it up a little bit. With three miles to go, I knew that I should start gapping the field. I tried to turn my brain off and not worry about the pace and more just keep going forward, more like if I was out on a run."

MEN'S 10,000 - Sean Davidson, Cal Poly
"The conference meet usually doesn't go out as fast as that. You never get a regional mark in the 10K usually. But I saw Chris Enriquez (Long Beach State) and Bryan Guijarro (UC Santa Barbara) go and me and Chris (Frias, Cal Poly) had to respond. He was conference champ (last year) and I was runner-up. We just felt like we had to do it for our team and we came out and ran as hard as we could and the pieces just fell together."

WOMEN'S 4X100 RELAY - Janaya Shorty (anchor), Cal State Fullerton
"I just wanted to do it for the two seniors on our team because this is our last time running as a team. All I thought to myself was, 'run fast'!"

WOMEN'S TRIPLE JUMP - Catherine Li, UC Davis
"I have been aiming to break the school record since freshman year, and I'm really happy I was able to do it at the end of my sophomore year. There were so many things going through my mind before the event; I knew I needed to slow down, drive out, and relax."

MEN'S 4X100 RELAY - Basil Okoroike (anchor), UC Davis
"Coming into the last leg I was thinking about the two seniors on our team. I knew we had the win I just needed to put it down for the entire crowd and finish strong for them. It felt good to have a win on our home turf, and I couldn't ask for anything more."

WOMEN'S 1500 - Raquel Lambdin, UC Davis
"The team was my motivation today. As I learned my freshman year, every single race and person on the team counts so I thought about this going into my event."

MEN'S 1500 - Nathan Strum, UC Davis
"I knew I was doubling with another race later in the day so my motivation was to be as relaxed as possible, yet still be in the hunt to win. It was a lot of fun racing on the home track. The fans were great and we had three others score for this event and they all finished well so I'm very proud of them."

WOMEN'S 100 HURDLE - Danielle Littleton, UC Riverside
"As a third year I have always been on the podium but never first. I trained so hard for this and I didn't want all my training to go to waste. I wasn't nervous before the race, just anxious and ready to run. I knew if I continued to compete like I have been I could win."

MEN'S 110 HURDLE - Davon Wilson-Angel, Cal State Long Beach
"My bigest motivation was my team. We are trying to get another championship, so I wanted to do my part and play my role to have a better opportunity to win. I couldn't have done it wihtout my coaches and the motivation of my entire team. I have been sick and battling through a lot throughout the past few weeks and I have realized that nothing is stronger than the human spirit."

MEN'S 400 - Michael Perez-Rogers, Cal State Long Beach
"I just wanted to try and stick with my team. The competitiveness going in to the race is really what drove me. Being able to finish strong was the key in this race - a lot of people can start out fast, but it takes a lot to finish strong."

WOMEN'S 100 - Ashley Marshall, UC Davis
"Really today I wanted to focus on competing and doing it for my team. I knew I could win the race if I just did what I have been doing in practice and execute it on the track. Go Ags!"

MEN'S 100 - Marcus Johnson, UC Davis
"I wanted to put Davis on a different level. We deserved to be here and it's time to prove it. The key today was staying relaxed and trusting my training. I'm blessed to be here and that's all I can say."

WOMEN'S 800 - Shanie Landen, UC Davis
"I wanted to finish my senior year with pride for myself and my team. I knew I had to stay confident in my abilities and training, believing I could win. Running at Davis has been the most amazing experience and I'm going to miss it."

MEN'S 800 - Chris Low, Cal State Long Beach
"My trainer has been my best motivation - he has helped me get stronger, better, and faster. I relied on my kick and being in the best position with 200 to go. It's been great to be here, and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to race in the conference championships."

WOMEN'S 400 HURDLE - Kellie Grigg, UC Davis
"My motivation revolves around two things: my team and coming out on top as a senior. I've been trying to execute a better step pattern, but when it came down to the race, I threw all the technical parts out the window and realized that beating everyone else is really what it comes down to. I owe this to my new coach this year, who has been amazing."

WOMEN'S SHOT PUT - Itohan Aikhonbare, UC Irvine
"Last year it got away from me, so I was busting my butt to win the conference championship this year. The key to today was finding something in the middle and listening to my coaches."

MEN'S 400 HURDLE - Karl Moran, UC Davis
"It's my mom's birthday today and she came out from an 8-hour drive, so I knew I had to perform for her because she's my biggest fan. My loss in the 110s made me want to come back and redeem myself. I had to listen to my coach, and follow my step pattern to win the rest of the race. I really want to thank my team, coaches, trainers, and my mom."

MEN'S TRIPLE JUMP - Willie Alexander, Cal State Long Beach
"My motivation today was winning the team championship. The key to my success today was my team. Triple jump is a hard event for me, and I fear letting my team down, but they always have my back and I was able to pull it off today."

WOMEN'S 200 - Ashley Marshall, UC Davis
"I wanted to win and do it for my team. The key was to just go out there and compete."

MEN'S 200 - Jamison Jordan, Cal Poly
"Knowing that this was most likely the last 200 of my life, I used it as motivation to get the win. I was on the outside in the race, so I made sure to get out fast and be quick around the turn to bring it home."

MEN'S POLE VAULT - Connor Ruse, Cal State Long Beach
"My motivation was definitely my taem, I'm really lucky to have such a great crew and for all of us to have a great finish. The key to winning today was executing what we do every day in practice."

WOMEN'S 5,000 - Alycia Cridebring, UC Davis
"I wanted to work together with my teammate (Hoffman) and I knew if we paced each other we would be succesful. I've never won the 5k at conference so I knew my senior season was my time to do it, especially at my home track. I just had to stick it mentally, get relaxed, and break away from Cal Poly to win."

WOMEN'S HIGH JUMP - Lydia French, Cal State Northridge
"It's been an interesting season, but we put in a lot of work up to this point. When it comes to the end, anything is possible. I just gave it my all today, and I'm pleased with the outcome."

MEN'S 5,000 - Chris Frias, Cal Poly
"Last night the 10k was disheartening, so I wanted to come out and compete today. The key to winning was finding that last push of motivation to win."

WOMEN'S 4X400 RELAY - Cal State Northridge (Marie Veale)
"Our motivation today was winning and taking first place. The key to winning this race was all heart."

MEN'S 4X400 RELAY - Cal State Long Beach (Dylan McCloskey)
"This was my sixth race this weekend, but our motivation was to have heart and compete. The key to winning today was determination, and I have to give it up to the competition. This is what we love to do: compete and win."
