Teresa Gould to assume interim director of athletics duties
Josh Flushman in his eighth year with UC Davis Athletics where he holds a various of administrative responsibilities. In addition to serving on the senior management team, Flushman supervises several sports including football, baseball, men's tennis, women's tennis and women's soccer.
Additionally, he oversees the strength and conditioning, sports medicine, sports psychology and nutrition programs that serve the nearly 600 student-athletes. Flushman is also responsible for gameday operations for UC Davis athletics events and he serves as a liaison to various campus departments.
Flushman returned to UC Davis in 2007 after graduating from the university in 2000 with his bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in human development. He began his tenure as assistant athletics director and director of football operations while also overseeing the administration of youth sports camps and coordinating event management for home athletics events.
As director of football operations, Flushman was responsible for all administrative duties related to the Aggies' Football Championship Subdivision program, including team travel and budget. He transitioned to his current role of associate athletics director of sports enhancement and development where he assumed his current duties.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Flushman was the director of Olympic sports at Cal from 2006-07 after serving as Olympic sports operations assistant for the previous five years. As director, he managed day-to-day and long-term operations for 24 men's and women's Olympic sports while advising and assisting in all aspects of the programs including budgeting, NCAA rules compliance, event management, recruiting and other duties.
In addition to his undergraduate degree from UC Davis, Flushman earned his master's in sports psychology from John. F. Kennedy University in 2005. He and his wife, Claudia, reside in Sacramento with their young son, Lucas.
