SACRAMENTO, Calif. -
The 50th annual Causeway Classic, to be played this Saturday between UC Davis and Sacramento State at Hornet Stadium, will be televised locally by UPN-31 KMAX, marking the series' first appearance on local television since 1999.
Kickoff has been moved to 7:37 p.m. to accomodate the television coverage.
The matchup between the Aggies and the Hornets will also be shown by The Football Network, a new national cable network which began programming last Friday.
According to the network, initial programming is expected to reach 2 million homes. The Football Network is beginning with weekend coverage until round-the-clock daily programming commences in November.
The Football Network broadcast will be available via satellite through the Empire Network which is available on both DISH Network (Channel 432) and DirectTV (626).
The Aggie radio network of KHTK (1140 AM), KDVS (90.3 FM) and KSRK (540 AM, Monterey) will also carry the Causeway Classic live.
UC Davis leads the all-time series with the Hornets, 34-16. Saturday's game marks the 51st meeting overall with one matchup occurring during the 1988 NCAA Division II Playoffs.
UC Davis, 1-2, had a bye last weekend while the Hornets, 2-2, beat Idaho State, 47-21.
