2021: ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION I NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD… Played in 15 games recording starts in all 15 for the Aggies… Team leader in assists with five, three of which came consecutively in the final three games against Stanford (10/26), UALBANYF (10/29), and Monmouth (10/31)… Second on team in minutes with 731… Nine points on the year was good for third among all Aggies… Best game came against UALBANYF (10/29) when she recorded one goal, and one assist to pace the Aggies with three points.
2020-21: Will not lose a year of athletic eligibility due to the NCAA’s COVID-19 policy… ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION I NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD… Started all 11 games played… Her two goals is the third-highest individual total of the sprint season… Posted a team-high four points by scoring a team-high two goals vs. Cal (3/7) in the Aggies’ 2021 spring season opener, including the game-winner… All three of her shots were on goal and became season-high totals… Those three shots on cage vs. Cal are a team-high total… Seven of her nine swings were on goal.
2019: ALL-AMERICA EAST ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL... 2019 NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION... Started all 17 games for UC Davis... Scored the first goal of her UC Davis career on Oct. 18 against Cal... Got the Aggies on the board first with a goal at Ohio on Oct. 26... Registered first career assist at No. 7 Iowa and second against No. 18 Stanford... Finished tied for second on the team with six points on two goals and two assists.
2018: Appeared in all 19 games on the season for UC Davis, making 14 starts… Co-led the team and finished the season tied for third in the America East Conference with a pair of defensive saves, notched against Davidson (9/9) and No. 18 Maine (9/16).
SYRACUSE (2017): 2017 ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD SELECTION... Made her collegiate debut against Cal on Aug. 25, 2017... Helped the Orange to a 3-0 win over Pacific (10/28), notching her first career goal.
SCRIPPS RANCH HS '17: Four-year varsity letter winner as a midfielder for Scripps Ranch HS... Helped her team to a San Diego Section CIF title in 2015 as well as back-to-back Western League titles during her sophomore and junior seasons... Recipient of the Varsity Field Hockey Scholar Athlete Award in 2015... A two-time All-CIF first team selection, Matthew capped off her senior season with 21 goals and 21 assists... Member of the San Diego District Attorney's Youth Advisory Board... Competed for four years with the RUSH field hockey club team based out of San Diego, Calif... Lists playing the ukulele and spending time at the beach as her favorite hobbies.
