Biography
2021-22: 2022 MPSF ALL-ACADEMIC...Set three collegiate-bests during the season...Swam 24.94 and 54.64 in the 50 and 100 free respectively at the Dixie State Trailblazer Invite (11/18)...Set another personal best against Pacific with 57.53 swim in the 100 fly (1/29).
2020-21: Lone appearance was in exhibition in 100 fly in Pacific dual meet (1:10.20).
2019-20:Â Â Only Aggie to compete in both the pool and dive during the season when she scored 176.05 on the 1-meter board against Cal State East Bay, Pepperdine and UC San Diego (Nov. 1)...Season-best times include: 50 free (25.46), 100 free (56.35), 100 fly (59.97), 100 back (1:07.33), 100 IM (1:06.97)... Earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
2018-19: Set three collegiate-bests at the Speedo Sectionals in the 100 free (55.20), 100 fly (58.28), and 200 fly (2:13.07)… Also finished third in the 100 fly (59.44) during a road dual against MPSF colleague San Diego on Oct. 20… Other season-best times include: 50 free (25.05), 100 back (1:04.20), 100 IM (1:06.86).
KINGWOOD HS ’18: Four-year varsity letter winner for the Kingwood HS swimming and diving team… A dual-sport athlete as a freshman, Saenz competed as both a diver (3M) and swimmer… Helped the Mustangs to a second-place finish at the Texas State Meet as well as a Region Meet title as a freshman… Two-time All District Team selection as a freshman and sophomore… All-Region selection as a junior… Earned All-American distinction (200 free relay) in 2017, helping the Mustangs to a seventh-place state finish… Competed in the 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 100 fly, and 400 free relay for the state team as a senior… All-American and All-State Honorable Mention (2017, 2018)… Academic All-American (2018)… Two-time All-State Academic honoree (2017, 2018)… Kingwood HS All-Sports Booster Club Scholarship recipient (2018)… Spanish National Honor Society member (2016-2018)… Science National Honor Society member (2017, 2018)… Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA) member… Graduated in the top five percent of her class with a 3.98 GPA… Five-year competitor on the Blue Tide Aquatics club team based out of Kingwood, Tex… TAGS Relay Top 6 finish in 2013… NCSA Junior Nationals Qualifier in 2018… Texas age group swimming finalist… National team member with Blue Tide Aquatics (2014-2018)… Gulf Championships winner in 2018.
PERSONAL: Born in Mexico City, Mexico… Parents are Fernando Saenz and Maaike Del Villar… Has two older brothers, Gerardo and Fernando… Her brother Fernando competed as a swimmer for Boston College… Lists Shawn Johnson as her sports hero… Career plans include becoming a physical therapist or a sports nutritionist.
