2020-21: Started all five tournaments for the Aggies, finishing with a 75.33 scoring average... Posted a top-five finish at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, finishing in a tie for third with a 5-over 221 while helping UC Davis to the team title, and added a pair of top-25 finishes on the year at the Big West Conference Championships (tied for 17th) and Gunrock Invitational (tied for 25th)... Shot a season-low 70 in the second round of the Big West Championships, eventually posting a 6-over 222... Lowest 54-hole score came in the season-opening Gunrock Invitational, ending the tournament with a 3-over 219.
2019-20: Appeared in three tournaments for the Aggies as an individual, posting a season-best tie for 32nd during the stroke play portion of the East-West Match Play Challenge… Closed out the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational with a season-low single-round of 74.
2018-19: Competed in eight events, and posted eight rounds at par or under... Shot a 69 during the second round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational (2/24-25), matching the lowest individual round of her career... Carded a 71 in all three rounds of the Fresno State Classic (4/1-2), finished fourth overall at 3-under and helped the Aggies win a team championship... By posting back-to-back 72s in the final two rounds at the Gunrock Invitational (3/4-5), she finished seventh at 2-over... Also ended stroke play at the East & West Match Play Challenge (9/16-18) at 2-over... Thanks to her season-low round, Sun ended her stay at the Westbrook Spring Invitational at 5-over.
2017-18: Competed in eight events throughout her first season at UC Davis... Shot a 69, her lowest score of the season, during the final round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational (2/26)... Posted a top 10 finish when she finished tied for eighth at the Big West Conference Women's Championship at 10-over (223)... Made her Aggie debut at the Branch Law Firm-Dick McGuire Invite (9/11-12)... Shot three rounds at par or under: Battle at the Rock - 1st round (71, 2/12), Westbrook Spring Invitational - 3rd round (69), Big West Conference Women's Championship - 2nd round (71, 4/16).
KANSAI HS ’17: Played golf under the Kansai High School Golf Association in Japan… Some of her individual accomplishments in her high school golf career include a third place finish at the 4th Annika International, a fourth place finish at the Osaka High School International, and a 30th at the 21st Japan Junior Championship… She also helped her team to a fourth place finish at the 27th Kansai High School Invitational.
PERSONAL: Born in Shanghai, China… Mom’s name is Yanru… Has two younger brothers Taiyang and Yuquan, and two younger sisters, Qianqi and Qianyi… Career sports highlight was participating in, and winning her first amateur competition… Sports hero is Choi Na Yeon, while her non-sports hero is her mother… Top three favorite hobbies are reading books, watching movies, and listening to music.
