2021: Teamed with Colleen McGuire to lead the Aggies with a 15-12 overall record at the top two spots in the lineup… Finished a team-best 14-9 record at the ones and a 1-3 mark at the twos… Became only the second UC Davis pair to win All-Big West honors (Lauren Matias and Jane Seslar were honorable mention in 2019) and the first Aggie pair to be named to the first team… Finished the year with wins in her final five head-to-head matches from April 18-30 — and 11 of her final 13 — to close out the year, including wins over CSU Bakersfield and Long Beach State at the ones at the Big West Championships… Added a pair of three-match winning streaks from April 2-3 and April 9-11… Also posted wins over pairs from a receiving votes Saint Mary’s team, as well as wins against pairs from No. 11 California, No. 13 Arizona, and No. 10 Pepperdine… The 15 wins are the most in a single season by any UC Davis individual or pair, regardless of spot in the lineup, while the 14 wins at the ones are also a single-season school record… Joined McGuire as the Big West Pairs Team of the Week on April 12 after splitting a pair of matches against No. 10 Pepperdine and posting wins over San Jose State and Saint Mary’s… With her 15 wins this year, Bowman set a new career record for individual wins… Tied for the team lead alongside Bowman and the pairing of Megan Luly and Heather Reed with five three-set matches on the year.
2020: Appeared in all eight duals for the Aggies during the shortened 2020 campaign… Finished the season with a 3-5 overall record, splitting time between the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup… Posted a 2-4 record alongside partner Jane Seslar at the top spot, and finished 1-1 at No. 2 with partner Megan Luly… Won back-to-back clinching points against Utah (2/29) and San Jose State (3/7), and extended that winning streak to three with a win against Stephen F. Austin (3/12)… All three wins were in straight sets.
2019: Finished 8-11 overall while playing in four of the five spots in the lineup… Finished 4-5 at the No. 3 position, while also posting two wins at No. 4, and one win each at No. 1 and No. 2… Earned Big West Conference Pairs Team of the Week on April 8 along with teammate Josephine Ough after finishing 3-0 during a four-team weekend round-robin at Sacramento State… Finished 6-9 overall alongside Ough, with four of those wins at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS HS ’17: Helped Falcons to consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section crowns... Three-time All-Capital Valley Conference selection in volleyball, including Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016... Switched from libero as a freshman to setter/RS from sophomore through senior seasons... Four-year high honors student... Played eight years of club ball for Five Starz VBC (Davis, Calif.), including final seasons under tutelage of former Aggie setter Sophia Mar... Earned all-tourney and MVP honors at Junior Nationals, propelling team to National division title in 2015.
PERSONAL: Born in Berkeley, Calif.... Majoring in international relations... Parents are David and Deborah Bowman... One of four siblings, along with Tatijana, Nastassja and Xavier... Lists Nastassja, now at Cal State Fullerton, among the best athletes she has ever faced... Lists Gary & Debby Colberg among her sports heroes... Note: UC Davis now has an annual match dedicated to Gary Colberg’s memory, scheduled vs. CSF to allow both Bowman sisters to participate.
