GOLDEN VALLEY HS [apos]12: Placed 4th in pole vault (15-8.25) at 2012 CIF state championship after winning prelim round the day before... Won individual title at both Sac-Joaquin Section championship and Masters meets, posting PR leap of 16-1 at former... Also a three-time section qualifier in 110 hurdles... Set PR of 15.20 at UC Davis[apos] own Woody Wilson Invite as a senior... Placed 8th in high jump (5-10) at section finals as a sophomore... Best HJ mark was 6-2 during junior year... Added All-Central California Conference and all-area honors in soccer as a senior defender.
PERSONAL: Born in Merced, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are Tim & Diane Pust... Event in history he wishes he could have witnessed was Bruce Jenner[apos]s Olympics decathlon gold medal in 1976... Note to announcers: name rhymes with 'rust.'
