Biography

2024:  Competed in ten meets...Was an integral part of the women’s 4x400 indoor team that scored third overall for UC Davis at the MPSF Indoor Championships...Set two prosnal bests in two events, with a 57.14 in the 400 meter at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational and in the 200 at the Beach Invitational with a 25.29...Had two first place finishes at the Aggie invite, boosting the 4x100 and 4x400 squads to victory with her efforts. 

PSA/Armijo High School '23: Because PSA did not have sports teams, Cierra competed for Armijo High School. Her freshman year she ran both cross country and track, posting impressive PRs in cross country including a 5:54 1 mile and a 19:30 5k, before continuing with just track and field after the COVID19 Pandemic. In her junior year she was a member of the school record breaking 4x100m team (48.17). In her senior year she was a MEL champion in all 4 of her events (200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m), she helped set the school record in the 4x200m (1:48.20), and placed 2nd at the Sac Meet of Champions in the 400m (56.68), despite only running the open 400m race for the first time earlier that year. At the conclusion of her high school career she had the following PRs: 100m (12.24), 200m (25.26), 400m (56.68), 4x100m (48.66), and 4x400m (4:17.64). 

Cierra performed well in the classroom during her time at PSA and made the Principal's Honor Roll in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. She was a Highest Honors recipient in 2023.

Personal: Cierra's father, John Kinsey, is a UC Davis alumni (2000). He now works as a microbiologist. Cierra's mother, Anisa Kiney, is an educator and business owner. Cierra has one younger sister, Anisteicia who is a freshman on the team...Off the track, Cierra was competing in a different sport. Cierra competed for 13 years with the Suisun City Shotokan Karate Academy. She began learning karate at age 2 and her family opened their own dojo at age 4. Both of her parents are Shotokan Karate Senseis. She began teaching karate at age 7 and earned her 1st degree black belt (Shodan) at age 10. Cierra became the youngest student to earn a full black belt within her organization (ISKA). She earned her 2nd degree black belt (Nidan) and earned the title of Sensei at age 17, making her the youngest student in ISKA to earn a 2nd degree black belt and earn the title of Sensei. Cierra won kumite division at the Ozawa Cup International Karate Tournament in 2016...Cierra's career goals are to become a surgeon. In her free time, she enjoys planning trips. One day, she hopes to run a 100 mile race.
