Biography

2018: ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM… One of just two Aggies to start all 53 games on the schedule... Led the Aggies in eight different categories this season, including runs, hits, total bases, and slugging percentage… Ended the regular season tied for first in the Big West, batting a career-high .345, while his 76 hits, 36 runs scored, six home runs, 36 RBI and 111 total bases all ranked among the top 10 in the league... His 5-for-5 effort at UC Riverside on Mar. 29 was the first by an Aggie since Tanner Bily finished 5-for-5 against CSUN in 2016, making him the seventh Aggie in the program's Division I era to collect at least five hits in a single game… Led the team with 21 multi-hit games as well as 10 multi-RBI performances… Tied a career-high with three RBI against Cal Poly (Apr. 15)… Finished 8-for-14 with three RBI and four runs scored against New Mexico (May 18-20)… Selected in the 31st round with the 929th pick overall by the Texas Rangers on day three of the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on June 6—the fourth UC Davis selection of the Rangers all-time, and the first since Luke Steidlmayer was picked in the 45th round in 2001.

2017: The only Aggie to start all 51 games on the season... Posted a career-best .313 average with 30 runs scored, a team-high 14 doubles, six home runs, and 39 RBI... Slugged .483 on the season and posted a .372 on-base percentage... Led the team with 20 multi-hit games, including a career-high three hits against Nevada (May 16) and Grand Canyon (May 19)... Also led the team with nine multi-RBI contests... Tied a program Division I era record with hits in 19 consecutive games from April 15 to May 22, and reached base safely in 21 consecutive contests... Tied a career high with three RBI at UC Santa Barbara (May 5), driving in six runs on the weekend as the Aggies won the series... Set a new career high with three runs scored against UConn (March 11)... His six home runs are tied for fourth on the school's Division I era list, while the 39 RBI are tied for sixth.

2016: Started 22 games before missing a large part of the year due to a hand injury suffered against Air Force on March 26... Hit .288 in 80 at-bats, with four doubles, a pair of home runs, 14 runs scored, and 17 RBI... Slugged .413 on the season... Finished with six multi-hit games on the year, all of them with two hits... Drove in a season-high three runs in back-to-back games against Santa Clara (Feb. 25) and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 26)... Drove in two runs in three straight games against Arizona State (March 13), Stanford (March 21), and Air Force (March 24)... Hit his first career home run against the Broncos and added another against the Falcons (March 24)... His five multi-RBI games were tied for the most on the team... Ended the year on an eight-game hitting streak, batting .313 (10-for-32) with six runs scored and eight RBI.

2015: Appeared in two games, making one start as a designated hitter before missing the rest of the season due to injury... Made his first career appearance as a pinch hitter in the season-opener at Texas State (Feb. 13), collecting his first career hit with a single as part of the Aggies' 10-7 win... Started as the DH in the series finale (Feb. 15), stealing a base and scoring a run as part of an eventual 7-7 tie.

FOOTHILL HS '14: Three-year varsity letter winner for the Falcons in both baseball and football (wide receiver and safety)... Two-time All-Bay Area selection as a junior and senior... First team All-East Bay Athletic League as well as an All-East Bay honoree as a senior... Named team MVP and captain as a senior... Helped the Falcons to the CIF North Coast Section semifinals in his final prep season, hitting .386 with 21 runs scored and 22 RBI to go along with eight doubles, a pair of triples, and four home runs... Hit .373 as a junior with six doubles and 13 RBI... Three-year scholar-athlete award winner from 2012-14... First team All-EBAL, third team All-East Bay and All-Bay Area selection as a senior for the football team that finished 8-3 and reached the North Coast Section playoffs.

PERSONAL: Parents are Ron and Valerie... has an older brother, R.J., and a younger brother, Joshua... His cousin, Dave Delbon was a two-year letter winner for the UC Davis men's basketball team from 1982-84... His father played football at Santa Clara... Helped the Danville Hoots to a pair of Connie Mack state titles in 2012-14, earning all-tournament honors in 2014... Lists his sports hero as Jerry Rice.
