2021 T&F: Finished 2nd in steeplechase (9:11.12) at Big West Conference, improving by 23 seconds from previous effort at Sac State Invite... Team leader in 1500, posting season-best 3:47.69 at Stanford Invite... Placed 6th (3:50.91) in that event at Big West meet, adding a 10th in 5K (14:47.44)... Ran 14:46.29 at Causeway Track Classic, second only to teammate Ivan Mendez... Honored as UC Davis’ male representative as Big West Scholar-Athlete of the Year in March.
2020 XC: Season was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 T&F: Edged teammate Adam Fragola for 3K win (8:32.26) at Cal Opener in team’s lone meet before COVID-19 shut down the season... Big West Spring Academic All-Conference and Commissioner’s Honor Roll with honors (3:21-3.50 GPA).
XC 2019: BIG WEST ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM... Earned his first career All-Conference award, moving up four spots throughout the 8k to finish 8th overall... Crone's 24:56.4 marks a lifetime best by 12 seconds, and an improvement from a 33rd place finish last year in Brea, making him just the fourth junior in UC Davis Division I men's cross country history to earn All-Conference honors... Led the Aggies for the fourth time this season when he recorded a personal best of 31:14.9 (68th) at the NCAA West Regional (11/15)... His late kick at the inaugural Stump Invitational (9/13) led to a fifth-place finish with a time of 25:20.6... Cut over a minute of his personal best time when he ran the Dellinger Invite in 25:08.2... Big West Fall Academic All-Conference.
2019 T&F: Placed 7th at Big West Conference Championships in steeplechase with team season-best 9:29.89... Previous best was 9:48.34, good for the win at Causeway Track Classic... Also ran 1500 twice, with best of 4:06.59 at Cal Opener (3/2)... Earned Big West Spring Academic All-Conference accolades.
2018 XC: Second runner for the Aggies in five out of six meets this season… Posted a personal-best 25:19.9 at the Bronco Invite 8K at Santa Clara… Represented UC Davis at the Big West Championships and the NCAA West Regional for the second consecutive year... Big West Fall Academic All-Conference honoree.
2018 T&F: Competed in a total of four meets… Posted the top two Aggie marks in the 3,000 steeplechase, the best one being a 9:31.28 time received at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Mar. 30… Also marked the top of the UC Davis Outdoor Performance List in the mile with a 4:31.22 time at the same meet… Recorded personal-best times in the 800 (2:01.27), 1,500 (4:06.32), 3,000 (9:00.59), and 5,000 (15:30.96).
2017 XC: Made appearances in four of the five regular season meets, as well as post-season appearances at both the Big West Conference Championships and the NCAA West Regionals… In his debut season, he set his 6K personal best at 19:03 at the Aggie Open, which was good for a seventh-place finish that dat… Set his 8K best at the Capitol Cross Challenge with a 25:28.8 time, while setting his personal-best 10K mark of 31:59.0 at NCAA West Regionals.
PLACER HS’17: Did cross country and track all four years… Added soccer into the mix going into his senior year… Got All-league in cross country every season… Was captain of the track team for the last two years… Was awarded the MVP award freshman and sophomore year for cross country, as well MVP sophomore, junior, and senior year for track… Contributed to four first place League Championships wins for cross country, as well as two first place League Championship wins for track.
PERSONAL: Born in Auburn, Calif… Majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior… Wants to pursue a career in medicine… Parents are Kim and Fred… Has a younger brother Ian (17)… His career sport highlight was getting fifth place in the 1600m run at the San Joaquin Section Masters in 2017… Says if he could witness any event in history it would be Michael Jordan making his famous buzzer beater shot.
