2023 XC: BIG WEST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE YEAR... Set a 5k PR at the Joe Piane Invitational, placed 10th with a time of 16:37.9...Atkins took first place in the 6k at the 2023 Big west XC Championships with a smashing PR score of 19:52.5...Placed 9th at the NCAA Division 1 West Region Champs, set new 6k PR of 19:36.2 less than a month later.Â
2022: BIG WEST CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (9-27)…BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC…Participated in five meets…Had personal best time of 19:50.3 at the Big West Conference Cross Country Championship where she placed fourth…Finished first at Bill Dellinger Invitational with a time of 19:53.4… Finished second at UCR Invitational with a time of 20:14.7…Ran a time of 20:15.2 at the Bronco Invitational with a 10th place finish…Ran a time of 20:46.4 at the NCAA Division I West Region Cross Country Championship.
2021 XC: BIG WEST ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM… BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC… TWO-TIME BIG WEST CONFERENCE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (9/14 & 9/28)… Competed in five meets… Was the runner-up at the Big West Conference Championship with a time of 20:21.3… Placed 29th at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 20:36.8… Started the season with a runner-up finish in the Stump Invitational with a time of 19:57.2… Crossed the line in 13th at the Dellinger Invitational with a time of 20:26.7… Clocked a 20:31.2 at the FSU Invite/Pre-National to place 35th overall.
2021 T&F: Led Aggies in 5,000 with 16:26.47 at West Coast Relays in Clovis (4/30), good for 5th in school history... Placed 3rd in that event at Big West Conference Championships (16:39.29), adding 7th in 1500 (4:31.01)... Best 1500 was 4:26.29 at CSF Tri-Meet, putting her 10th in school history... Indoor season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2020 T&F:Â Finished second in the 800m at the Cal Invite (3/7) with a time of 2:16.47... That was the only meet the Aggies competed in since COVID-19 forced a premature end to the season... During indoor season, she was part of a Distance Medley Relay team that posted the No. 2 all-time mark in UC Davis history with its 11.51.27 finish at the UW Invitational (1/31)... At the Husky Invitational (2/14), she posted the sixth-fastest all-time result in the 1 Mile by crossing the line in 4:57.13... In the very next meet, which took place at the 2020 MPSF Indoor Championships (2/28), she was part of a Distance Medley Relay team that set a new school record by finishing with an 11:33.38... Set a new PR in the 1 Mile at the 2020 MPSF Indoor Championships by recording a 4:52.30, the sixth-fastest time in program history.
2019 XC: Led all Aggies and recorded a personal best time of 20:55.2 at the Dellinger Invite (9/13)... The only UC Davis runner to cross in under 21 minutes — the first Aggie to do so this season — when she ran the course at the Capital Challenge (9/13) in 20:55.2... Scored points for the Aggies at the Pre-Nationals (10/19) by finishing with a time of 21:24.0.
ANALY HS ’19: Competed in three sports for the Tigers, including soccer, basketball, and track & field… Scored 19 goals in first two years of soccer, playing as a forward/striker… Earned JV MVP her sophomore year of soccer… Also earned JV MVP for basketball that year, averaging 15 points per game as a point guard… After moving up to varsity, awarded co-MVP with 225 total points her senior year… Competed at the club level for five years, playing for NorCal Academy and the Santa Rosa Bear Cubs… In track, competed in the 4x400m, 1600m, 800m, and high jump, with a focus on the middle-distance events… Two-time First Team All-Redwood Empire honoree… Three-time North Coast Section qualifier in 1600m… 2019 CIF State qualifier in the 1600m… Personal best of 4:51.84 broke a 33 year-old school record at Analy HS… Also ran a personal best 2:15.65 in the 800m her senior year to earn MVP honors… Held a GPA of above 3.0 for Honor Roll distinction all four years.
PERSONAL: From Santa Rosa, Calif… Parents are Teresa Smith and Christopher Atkins… Teresa played basketball and softball in college… Comes from a lineage of professional athletes… Great uncle Tommie Smith (San Jose State) competed for the Cincinnati Bengals, and also won gold at the 1968 Olympics with the first legal sub-20 200m… Great uncle Mark Lee (Washington) played in the NFL for the Packers, 49ers, and Saints, and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2017… Most people don’t know she is pteronophobic (fear of feathers), is vegan, and is an only child… Proudest personal accomplishment is breaking Analy HS’ all-time girl’s 1600m school record of 33 years at the 2018 NCS Championships… Career sports highlight is qualifying for and competing at the 2019 CIF State Championships 1600m… Favorite movie is Lights Out… Non-sports heroes are her parents… Chose UC Davis Athletics because she loved the town, campus, and for the scholarship… Also chose UC Davis because it is close to home.
