2020: Appeared in 15 games, starting all 15...Hit .283 over 53 at-bats with three doubles, one home run, nine RBIs and eight runs scored...Five multi-hit efforts on the season...Homered in the second game of a double-header against Loyola Marymount (Mar. 1)...Drove in a season-high two runs in second game of double-header against Mount St. Mary's on singles to center field (Mar. 7)...In the top of the eighth inning against North Dakota State, made diving catch to end inning and allow Aggies to take the lead later (Feb. 22)...Tied for the team lead drawing 10 walks.
2019: ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION… Enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for the Aggies, appearing in 45 games, making a career-best 39 starts… Ranked second on the team with a .312 average… Ended the season with five assists to lead the outfield… Also ranked second on the squad in runs (32) and RBI (28), while slugging 10 doubles and three home runs, drawing a team-best 24 walks… Logged a career best three hits against Utah Valley (Mar. 3), No. 2 Stanford (Apr. 16), and Long Beach State (Apr. 28)… Helped lead the Aggies to an 8-6 upset win over the nationally ranked Cardinal, slugging his first career homer—a three-run shot—to make it 7-2 in the seventh… Drove in a career-high four against San Francisco on Apr. 22, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three runs scored… Became the seventh Aggie in Division I era history to log two homers in a single game and the first since Austin March tallied two against Pacific back on April 26, 2015… Finished with 13 multi-hit games and co-led the squad with seven multi-RBI contests.Â
2018: Appeared in six games, making four starts… Hit a career-best .222, slugging one double, scoring twice, and driving in three… Made his season debut on the road at CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 17)… Logged his second career double against Creighton on Feb. 25, also scoring a run… Tied a career-best 2-RBI performance in his second appearance of the season against the Roadrunners (Feb. 18)… Also recorded hits against nationally ranked Stanford (Feb. 19) and Creighton (Feb. 24)... Redshirted.  Â
2017: Appeared in 25 games as a freshman, making 14 starts... Hit .208 in his debut season, scoring nine runs, collecting two doubles, and driving in two... Made his Division I debut in a start at third base on the road at UNLV on Feb. 19... Collected his first career hit against Utah Valley on Feb. 24... Scored twice against UConn on March 12, and drove in a pair of runs with a pinch-hit two-run double against Cal Poly on April 15... Finished with a career-high three hits in a 3-for-4 day against Long Beach State on April 29... Also added a two-hit game against UC Santa Barbara on May 6.
VANDEN HS '16: Three-time Solano County Athletic Conference MVP and first-team all-league selection from his sophomore-senior seasons… Hit .425 with 27 runs scored, 28 RBI, and 10 stolen bases, while posting a .529 on-base percentage as a senior… Also collected all-state honors as a junior, batting .568 with a .600 on-base percentage, driving in 39 runs and scoring 33 runs… Earned Daily Republic Male Athlete of the Year as a junior… Hit .434 as a sophomore after batting .350 as a freshman, driving in a combined 46 runs and scoring 35 more… Posted a .500 on-base percentage as a sophomore and a .418 mark as a freshman… Also played four years of soccer as a center back, earning all-league honors three times while serving as team captain, and played one season of football as a senior, kicking nine field goals and helping his team to a league title.
PERSONAL: Parents are Jose and Yolanda… Has two siblings: Lorenzo, his brother who also attends UC Davis, and Andres… Lists being selected for the Area Code Games as his proudest personal accomplishment… Favorite movie is "Forrest Gump"… If he could play any other sport at UC Davis, it would be water polo… Lists his hobbies as playing ping pong, hiking, and reading… Wishes he could have seen the Gettysburg Address… Bucket list includes taking his family to Europe, visiting every National Park, and climbing Mt. Everest.
