DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis men's soccer hosted the first Mountain West home contest in school history Wednesday night, falling 2-0 to Air Force at Aggie Soccer Field.
The Aggies (0-6-4, 0-1-1 MW) finished with a 15-14 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks, but the Falcons (2-3-4, 1-0-1 MW) scored once in each half to take the conference matchup.
UC Davis outshot Air Force 6-3 in the opening half. Nami Banks forced goalkeeper Hunter Anderson into a save at 18:38, while Talin Morgan made two saves for the Aggies. Ben Brophy broke the scoreless tie at 42:00 on an assist from Sean Odle, giving Air Force a 1-0 halftime lead.
Mekhai Wilson took over in goal after halftime and finished with three saves. Hector Orozco converted a penalty kick at 61:14 to extend the Falcons' lead to 2-0.
The Aggies generated several chances late in the second half. Isaac Chacing put a shot on target at 72:02 before Josh Gault struck the left post at 73:27. Kota Brown forced Anderson into his third save at 86:50.
UC Davis continues Mountain West play Sunday, Oct. 4, with a 1 p.m. PT match at Utah Tech in St. George, Utah.

- Gault and Tristan Wouters led UC Davis with three shots apiece, while Banks added two.
- Banks, Chacing and Brown accounted for the Aggies' three shots on goal.
