HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened strong, sweeping all three doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead. Polina Marakhtanova and Mika Ikemori earned a 6-3 win at No. 1, followed by a dominant 6-1 victory from Maya Youssef and Isabella Bringas at No. 2. Kaia Wolfe and Aileena Hu completed the sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 3.

• In singles, Vivian Gallaway quickly extended the Aggies' momentum with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4, while Aileena Hu added another straight-set win at No. 6, 6-4, 6-3.

• San Jose State responded on the remaining courts. Duru Durgun claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1, and Camila Celis added a straight-set victory at No. 5.

• The match ultimately turned on three-set battles at Nos. 2 and 3. Soledad Capilla outlasted Mika Ikemori in a tight 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 7-5 contest, while Emma Fantousis secured a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win over Maya Youssef to clinch the 4-3 decision for the Spartans.
