HOW IT HAPPENED

- Santa Clara responded in the opening inning, taking an early lead on a three-run homer.
- UC Davis immediately answered in the top of the second with a massive five-run rally. The surge was ignited by a bunt single from Elijah McNeal and capped off by an opposite field three-run blast from Howard.
- The Aggies kept their foot on the gas in the third inning, getting back-to-back home runs from Story and Hirschkorn, which stretched the UC Davis advantage to 9-4 after three frames.
- The Broncos attempted to claw their way back in the fourth, pushing three runs across to narrow the deficit to 9-7.
- In the sixth inning, UC Davis pulled away for good. With the bases loaded, Lee would hit a three-run double to center field, pushing the lead to 13-7.
- Santa Clara managed one final run in the seventh, but the Aggie bullpen, spearheaded by Barnes, held firm over the final frames to seal the series-clinching win.
