PHOENIX, Ariz. — Following a 1-4 loss to TCU to open the day, UC Davis beach volleyball got its first win of the Ari Homayun era with a 3-2 victory over Colorado Mesa on Saturday, Feb. 21.

THE RALLY

• Playing in the first flight, Kimi Waller and Ella Erteltova ended the first match with a three set win.
• After seeing Colorado Mesa take the first game of the second match, Kirra Martin and Kinley Lindhardt easily dispatched the fourth flight.
• Skye Smolinski and Kate O'Steen followed that up with their first win of the year, taking the second set by 11 points.
• Emma Johnson and Alexandra Leal put the finishing touches on the match with two quick victories, helping power the Aggies to a 3-2 win.
