Score:Â UC Davis 191.225 (1st); William & Mary 191.000 (2nd)
Location:Â Davis, Calif. (University Credit Union Center)
Â
The short story:Â It took every score and routine from UC Davis gymnastics, capped off by
Amelia Moneymaker's meet clinching 9.950 on floor, but the Aggies would come away with a well-earned dual victory over William & Mary in a Friday night showdown.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Heading into the final rotation, the Aggies trailed 142.650 to 142.325 and needed a big performance on floor from all six Aggies to overtake the tribe
- Moneymaker's 9.950 along with Avah Reichow hitting a career-high mark of 9.875 gave the Aggies finishes at one and two, helping set the foundation needed for the Aggies to storm back during the final rotation to win the dual
- UC Davis won on vault, beam and floor to come away with the meet victory
- Moneymaker tied a career-high with her 9.950 on floor, matching her school record second-best performance on floor
- The Aggie all-arounder finished with the 21st 39.000 or better all-around performance of her career securing a 39.075 to win the all-around and the mark makes it five times this season Moneymaker has eclipsed 39.000
- Along with Moneymaker's win on floor, UC Davis got wins from Adia Friesen on beam, scoring a career-high 9.825 to bring that event home and Alana Kim on vault with Kim scoring a 9.725
