THE SHORT STORY: Despite a balanced offensive attack that saw four Aggies score in double figures, UC Davis fell 80-74 to UC San Diego on Thursday night at the University Credit Union Center.
COURT SIDE
- Four Aggies reached double digits, led by Marcus Wilson's 17 points.
- Niko Rocak posted a double-double with 11 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
- Carl Daughtery Jr. provided a spark off the bench with 16 points, going 4-of-7 from three-point range.
- Isaiah Chappell added 10 points, rounding out the double-digit scorers.
- The Aggies recorded 18 assists on the night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was back-and-forth throughout, and after falling behind 23-21, UC Davis used a 6-0 run to take a 27-23 lead late in the period.
- The Aggies held firm defensively to take a 30-25 advantage into halftime.
- UC San Diego responded however in the second half, using a late surge to erase the deficit and eventually outscore the Aggies to secure the 80-74 win.
